Inaugural Dual Docking at AMC Common User Facility

Our team at the Australian Marine Complex Common User Facility (AMC CUF) are delighted to share time lapse footage of the first simultaneous vessel docking on the AMC CUF Floating Dock

Following a request by returning client, Kailis Marine, to dock two tugs for Svitzer Australia, AMC Management identified an effective and efficient solution, suggesting the dual docking of the two vessels in the one evolution.

This docking saved the client valuable financial and human resources, as the docking and transfer of both vessels was completed in one day.

The weather conditions could not have been more perfect, and the team worked throughout the day to ensure the docking and transfer were executed successfully. The Tugs are now on the AMC CUF hardstand to be repainted and rebadged by Kailis Marine for Svitzer Australia.

This is a first for the AMC CUF, and completes the double of dual docking and undocking after the combined launch of the Guardian Class Patrol Boats on the AMC CUF floating dock in May 2021. Learn more about the Guardian Class Patrol Boat dual launch.

It was a great achievement by all involved and a testament to the innovation and capabilities of the floating dock and facilities at the AMC CUF.
