We’ve made some changes to our processes. It’s part of the State Government’s planning reform, which aims to cut red tape, reduce administrative processes and provide greater consistency of decision making.

DevelopmentWA is no longer undertaking compliance assessments of single residential proposals in the Wungong Project Area, including Haynes and Hilbert.

Instead, proposals for single residential development on lots greater than 260m2 that comply with the R-Codes PLN 3.10 or an approved Local Development Plan (LDP) applicable to the site, should be submitted directly to the City of Armadale for a building permit.

Applications for development approval for any single dwelling that does not comply with the R-Codes PLN 3.10 or applicable LDP, or is proposed on a lot less than 260m2, will need to be submitted to and approved by DevelopmentWA.

Planning Advice Process

A single dwelling built on a lot with an area greater than 260mdoesn't require development approval in the Armadale Redevelopment Area, which is in accordance with the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority Regulations 2011.

You will still need to get planning advice from us first, then apply to the City of Armadale for a building permit for such works.

To apply for planning advice please submit your request via the form below.

What is required for an application?

In order to complete a request for planning advice you will need A3 pdf copies of your site plan, floor plan and elevations.

Please refer to the Information Sheet for detailed requirements for each of these.

Are there any fees associated with the application process?

No, there is currently no fee associated with this process.

What happens after I apply?

We will provide planning advice via email detailing if the works need development approval or not.

Should the works require development approval, a full development application must be submitted for our assessment. Please refer to our Development Application Checklist for essential requirements when lodging development applications.
