We invite comment on a development application for an Eight Storey Hotel Development comprising 35 dormitory style rooms with 164 beds, co-working and e-games spaces, restaurant and bar areas and podium roof amenity.

The development application seeks approval of the following key variations to the requirements of the Scarborough Design Guidelines:

  • providing a 3m tower setback to West Coast Highway in lieu of the 6m required;
  • providing 10 car parking bays in lieu of the minimum 25 bays required;
  • providing approximately 95% site coverage in lieu of the maximum 80% permitted; and
  • reduced side setbacks instead of the 10m required, due to narrow development site.
