If you own property in the Latitude 32 Industry Zone there are several options open to you:
- Stay and you can continue with your current approved land use,
- Sell your property yourself or through a licenced real estate agent, or
- Redevelop your land for industrial use.
If you decide to stay, you have existing use rights (for the activity you were undertaking on your land prior to the Hope Valley-Wattleup Redevelopment Act 2000 coming into place) and you can continue to reside in your property.
On the 12th September 2017 the State Government announced the Westport - Port and Environs Strategy which will outline a long-range vision to guide the planning, development and growth of both the Inner Harbour at Fremantle and the Outer Harbour at Kwinana.
This plan, to be developed by a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary project team will set out how the port and its associated landside transport linkages are expected to develop in order to ensure the future freight, trade and logistics requirements of Perth and the surrounding regions are met for the next 50 years and beyond.
Over the last few years DevelopmentWA has fast-tracked planning within Latitude 32 Industry Zone, including obtaining approval of the Local Structure Plans for Development Areas 2 and 3.
The Latitude 32 Industry Zone will be an integral part of the Strategy and will play a critical role in supporting the proposed port. Further structure planning on Development Areas 4 and 5 at Latitude 32 will be incorporated into the Westport Strategy.
