The mining town of Leonora in the Eastern Goldfields is a tourist gem as well as an active regional mining centre. Set in the arid outback, the town features historic Gold-rush architecture and modern amenities, including a regional airport.
Leonora, 833km north-east of Perth, was formally established in 1897 and was, perhaps, the smallest town in the world to have a steam tram.
Gold was discovered in the Leonora district in 1894, and became the catalyst for rapid development and captured the world's interest. US president Herbert Hoover spent his early years as a mining engineer in Leonora, leading an expansion of the Sons of Gwalia gold mine.
The nearby town of Gwalia is a real tourist find with a complete precinct of 20 original miners' camps, lovingly restored by the local community.
To continue the development of a vibrant regional community, purchasers are required to build within 36 months from settlement.
Regional Development Assistance Program
This residential land has been developed under our Regional Development Assistance Program (RDAP). RDAP helps Local Governments to address the high costs associated with residential, industrial and commercial land developments in regional WA. Through these partnerships we deliver the land needed to support regional growth and to build great communities.
We have hundreds of lots available with a range of sizes and towns to choose from. View the full range of lots here.
