Discover your inner awesome at the Telethon Family Festival - a celebration of imagination and play!
Yagan Square joins the Telethon Family Festival for the fourth year on Sunday 19 October, transforming the precinct into a vibrant hub of imagination and play.
Celebrating the theme ‘Find your Inner Awesome’, the Yagan Square event invites families to explore their inner superhero through a packed program of colourful entertainment, playful performances and hands-on activities.
Young visitors can step into a world of music and movement at the silent disco, channel their inner star power at the Channel 7 News Desk and discover a world of imaginative circus fun with juggling, spinning plates, lasso tricks and more.
Keeping the energy high are Kellyjoy and Jelly Kelly, whose interactive performances encourage kids to embrace their inner-confidence by trying something new, bold and exciting.
Throughout the day, visitors can expect up close encounters with roaming performers, including larger than life butterfly catchers and giant manta ray puppets.
The all-inclusive event – part of the 58th annual Telethon Weekend – is a highlight on Perth’s annual event calendar – creating an inclusive event fostered around bringing joy and connection to families and children. Entry to the Telethon Family Festival is free for all ages.

10am - 4pm | Reporter for a DayStep into the spotlight at the retro Channel 7 News Desk and become a star reporter for the day! Dress up in fun reporter outfits, grab a microphone, and deliver breaking news. |
10am - 4pm | Roving Performers & Wearable ArtSee the magic in little things! Delight in roving performers throughout the day, including giant manta ray puppets, butterfly catchers and unique wearable art. |
10am - 4pm | Chill ZoneThe Yagan Amphitheatre will be transformed into a dedicated sensory-friendly chill zone, designed to offer a calm and inclusive retreat for families and children seeking a break from the high-energy atmosphere of the broader festival. Children and their families can also spread kindness, creativity and connection by visiting a dedicated station to create artwork and write messages for young patients at Perth Children’s Hospital. |
