What is RDAP?

Our Regional Development Assistance Program (RDAP), with funding support from the State Government, helps Local Authorities build communities across Western Australia.

Established to address the sometimes prohibitive costs associated with development in regional WA, which can make them unviable for private developers, it also frees up land supply in areas where the supply of privately developed land is often limited, or non-existent.

Through the RDAP, the State Government provides funding to deliver regional projects which are essential in supporting revitalisation and growth of regional towns and centres. Potential projects are assessed against established criteria outlined in the submission guide.

Under the RDAP, local authorities can apply to DevelopmentWA for assistance to progress potential land development projects in their local government areas.

How to apply for an RDAP Project

Local Government Authorities can download the application form. Please complete as thoroughly as possible as the more information you provide, the greater chance of project approval.

Where possible, please include maps, land tenure information, servicing access and capacity as well as approval requirements.

Remember to include a Council resolution in support of your RDAP application.

Additional supporting information that should be included is:

  • Letter(s) of support from Regional Development Commission(s) or other government agencies
  • Extracts from regional economic blueprints
  • Evidence of authority or agreements with RDL for the use of the land if the development area is Crown land.
