Peel Business Park FAQs

DevelopmentWA has engaged with the Gnaala Karla Boodja cultural advice committee to notify of works. The approved management of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage for the project includes the engagement of Aboriginal Heritage Monitors to observe the work in identified areas of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage significance, and the implementation of an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Finds Management Plan prepared by a qualified Heritage Consultant, to be utilised as a procedural policy should cultural heritage chance-finds be made during construction.

Yes. Once the works are completed DevelopmentWA will arrange the reinstatement and revegetation of the disturbed road reserve.

All trees have been assessed by an arborist and protected trees will be clearly tagged prior to the commencement of clearing works.

A Tree Protection Zone (TPZ) will be established around all protected trees in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards. This includes barricading the area to prevent any activity that could impact trees such as the movement of construction vehicles.

The wastewater alignment has been designed to minimise clearing and avoid large established native trees.

The project’s clearing footprint has been minimised as far as practicable, however clearing and pruning of planted trees and shrubs and/or degraded understorey of introduced species will occur in the road reserve along the pressure main alignment.

Flora and vegetation surveys have been undertaken by qualified environmental consultants and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation has considered Referral 10632/1 and determined under section 51DA(3) of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 that a clearing permit is not required for the 0.02 hectares of native vegetation within the project area.

The contractor has developed management plans to minimise impacts on surrounding residents. However, some levels of noise, dust and vibration are an unavoidable consequence of civil works.

Dust control is a key part of our planning, and something we take very seriously. A Construction Management Plan is in place, and the contractors will need to follow strict dust suppression measures throughout construction works.

Should you feel that excessive dust, noise or vibration is being generated due to these works, you are advised to contact the Civil Construction Company, via Wormall Civil Project Manager, Mr. Ansh Panthi in the first instance.

All existing driveway access shall be retained as much as practical with active traffic controllers. Sections of works requiring excavation under existing driveways will be completed by the contractor in discussions with the impacted resident and in a reasonable timeframe

Traffic Management Plans prepared by the Contractor and approved by the City of Mandurah will manage interface between construction works and road users. Traffic impacts will be communicated to motorists in advance via Digital Variable Message Signs and updates via the webpage. It is anticipated there will be an increase in traffic congestion and motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes or allow for additional time when travelling through the area.

The proposed working hours are 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 7:30am to 5pm on Saturdays. No work is planned to be carried out on Sunday or Public Holidays.

If works outside of planned hours is required, a Noise Management Plan will need to be approved by the City of Mandurah. All residents that may be affected will be notified in advance.

Local Peel Contractor, Wormall Civil Pty Ltd is the civil engineering construction company undertaking the works.
