Explore Your Future at DevelopmentWA
DevelopmentWA helps students and emerging professionals launch their careers through hands‑on experience, real projects and clear pathways into the workforce through graduate programs, traineeships, internships and student placements.
Graduate Program
Make a real impact from day one. At DevelopmentWA, you’ll help shape places across Western Australia - from town centres and tourism precincts to major industry hubs. Our Graduate Program offers hands‑on rotations across Strategy, Engagement and Business Development, Corporate Services, Planning, Operations and the Office of the CEO, giving you exposure to how a state‑shaping organisation really works.
You’ll work alongside Development Managers on real industrial, regional and metropolitan land development and built‑form projects, building practical skills fast. Successful graduates step into an ongoing role, continuing their career across diverse project teams and helping deliver communities, homes and opportunities across WA.
Indigenous Traineeships
DevelopmentWA’s Indigenous traineeships offer paid, hands‑on opportunities to build skills, confidence and real career pathways. Trainees work on meaningful projects in a culturally inclusive environment, gaining practical experience while contributing to place‑shaping work across Western Australia.
These traineeships are part of DevelopmentWA’s commitment to reconciliation, equal opportunity and building a strong, diverse future workforce - alongside our graduate and internship programs.
Paid Internship Program
DevelopmentWA’s paid internship program gives emerging talent the chance to jump into real projects, build skills fast and see what working in place‑shaping really looks like. Interns gain hands‑on experience, develop professional and technical skills aligned to their studies, build networks across the organisation, and receive guidance and feedback to confidently step into the workforce.
Placements are short and project‑based, with seasonal intakes, creating connected and accessible career pathways for young people and priority groups.
Student Placements and Work Experience
Want real experience - not just something to put on your resume? DevelopmentWA offers students and community members the chance to get hands‑on across areas like Strategy, Engagement and Business Development, Corporate Services, Planning and Operations.
Placements are designed around your interests, giving you real insight into how projects come to life and how the public sector makes an impact. It’s a chance to explore career options, build skills and see where you could go next.
