The new Alkimos Station officially opened for services today, bringing essential amenities and infrastructure to the rapidly growing Alkimos-Eglington region.
Situated within DevelopmentWA’s Alkimos Central development, this state-of-the-art facility is a crucial element of METRONET’s 14.5km railway extension project, which aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Perth’s northern coastal corridor, while supporting about 1,370 jobs.
The station boasts an array of modern features designed to provide a seamless and efficient transit solution for residents and commuters, including:
- Two 150m platforms with about 85% coverage to provide weather protection
- Over 700 parking bays and a dedicated passenger drop-off area
- Shared path connection to Marmion Avenue
- Plenty of bicycle parking including secure shelters.
- Eight bus stands with weather protection, seating and information facilities.
- Public toilets, kiosk, staff amenities, station administration offices and operational facilities.
In collaboration with the City of Wanneroo, DevelopmentWA is spearheading urban innovation at Alkimos Central, aiming to create a smart city that is sustainable, connected, and efficient.
Alkimos Central is a 200ha master planned community represents the largest planned concentration of business and social activity between Joondalup and Yanchep. It is part of a broader Alkimos area, which includes DevelopmentWA’s multi-award-winning Alkimos Beach, Alkimos Vista, and a future Alkimos foreshore development.
