Late last month we marked a major milestone at 195 Pier Street, celebrating the building reaching its full height of 29 storeys. In keeping with a centuries‑old construction tradition, an evergreen tree was hoisted to the rooftop to signify the structure reaching full height – a symbolic moment recognising the progress made by the team and the work still to come.
This milestone represents a significant step in boosting much‑needed housing supply in Perth’s CBD, particularly for those most in need. Once complete, 195 Pier Street will deliver 219 rental apartments, including 66 social homes and 44 affordable homes, alongside market rentals. The development will be owned and operated by a Community Housing Provider, supporting long‑term, secure and high‑quality housing outcomes.

Stakeholders gathered to celebrate the milestone
We were pleased to welcome Minister Carey onsite to mark the occasion. He is pictured below with DevelopmentWA CEO Dean Mudford and Built Form Manager Andrew Hannan.

Located close to public transport, jobs, education and services, 195 Pier Street is designed to support a diverse and inclusive inner‑city community, helping more Western Australians access well‑located housing.
Hosted by our builder, Icon, the ceremony brought team members together to celebrate this milestone, which included tours of the model apartments. A stunning sunset view from the building captured just how centrally connected 195 Pier Street is, offering a strong sense of the location and outlook future residents will enjoy when they make Pier Street home.
Thank you to Icon for leading construction on site, Hassell for their considered architectural design, and to the broader project team for their continued collaboration in delivering this important project.
