The wastewater alignment has been designed to minimise clearing and avoid large established native trees.
The project’s clearing footprint has been minimised as far as practicable, however clearing and pruning of planted trees and shrubs and/or degraded understorey of introduced species will occur in the road reserve along the pressure main alignment.
Flora and vegetation surveys have been undertaken by qualified environmental consultants and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation has considered Referral 10632/1 and determined under section 51DA(3) of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 that a clearing permit is not required for the 0.02 hectares of native vegetation within the project area.
