Elizabeth Quay is one of Perth’s most iconic landmarks - a vibrant waterfront destination and a sought‑after backdrop for commercial shoots, creative projects and community initiatives.

Lighting plays a key role across the precinct, from the waterline edge to the Elizabeth Quay Bridge, helping the Quay come alive after dark. With fully programmable lighting, the precinct can illuminate in colours that reflect important dates, moments of significance and community causes, acting as a visible beacon of support across the city.

Media Capture Application

For filming, drone and photography requests at Elizabeth Quay or Yagan Square. 

Thank you for your interest in capturing content at Yagan Square or Elizabeth Quay. To help us manage activity across these vibrant public spaces, we ask that you complete this application if your proposed media activity involves filming, drone use, or photography that includes equipment setup or may impact public access. This process ensures the safety, enjoyment and accessibility of the precincts for all visitors.

Please note you do not need to submit an application if your activity:

  • Involves fewer than five people on site;
  • Uses hand-held equipment only (no tripods, lighting rigs, etc.);
  • Does not involve drone use; and
  • Does not obstruct pedestrian or road access.

Submission of application

It is the responsibility of the organiser to operate in accordance with the requirements of all legislation including (but not limited to): Health Act 1911; Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997; and Disability Discrimination Act 1992.

Upon acceptance of the use, the applicant undertakes to hold DevelopmentWA indemnified against all claims which may be made against them for damages or otherwise, in respect of any loss, damage, death or injury caused by, or in the course of, or arising out of the use of the venue, or the property of the State Government of WA, including adjacent roads or footpaths, during all periods when such venue is used.
