Located 1270km from Perth on the tip of the North West Cape, the booming tourism centre of Exmouth is the gateway to Ningaloo Reef.

Exmouth's immaculate beaches, pristine gorges and stunning diving, fishing and surfing areas, combined with the town's proximity to commercial fishing and resources projects, are all driving its growth.

Residential Land Update: Sundrift Exmouth (Super lot D)

Exmouth’s much needed land supply received a boost following the sale of 18ha of land by DevelopmentWA to the Fowler Group / Celsius consortium in August 2024 to develop and provide:

  • Delivery of up to 158 residential lots on the edge of the Exmouth Marina
  • Public open space and commercial sites at the southern end of the Marina
  • Potential fast tracking of house and land packages for local council and service workers

This reflects the State Government’s commitment to boosting liveability and providing housing solutions in regional Western Australia.

Development Status: March 2026

The subdivision application to develop the site was approved by the Western Australian Planning Commission in  August 2025

Stage 1: works

  • Bulk earthworks at Sundrift commenced in November 2025, they are well advanced, with substantial progress made across the site.
  • Construction of retaining walls began in March 2026, with sewer installation scheduled to commence in April 2026.
  • While March 2026 presented some challenges, including increased diesel costs and the impact of Cyclone Narelle on Exmouth, works have continued to advance steadily.
  • Stage 1 civil works remain on track for completion in late 2026.

Landscaping of Parks

Detailed design of the public open space areas is progressing, with thoughtfully designed parks and landscaped areas to be delivered following completion of Stage 1 civil works. These spaces will form an important part of Sundrift’s relaxed coastal lifestyle, providing places for recreation, connection and enjoyment of the natural surroundings.

Stage 2

  • Planning for Stage 2 is underway and will introduce a mix of residential and commercial opportunities, supporting a vibrant and well connected community.
  • Subject to demand and servicing, Stage 2 is expected to commence construction in 2027.

Land Sales

  • Stage 1A, released in November 2025, has sold out, demonstrating strong demand for quality land in this unique coastal location.
  • Stage 1B is now selling, with 13 of 28 lots already secured as at 27 March 2026.
