About
Horizontal Geometries by Eveline Kotai (in collaboration with Matthews and Scavalli Architects) is a striking façade artwork at Elizabeth Quay, inspired by the shifting colours and light of the Swan River.
Using ceramic mosaic tiles and anodised aluminium panels, the piece evokes the submerged, winding riverbed, with shimmering hues that change throughout the day and year.
Fabricated in Spain using techniques similar to those of Gaudí, the tiles were expertly broken and arranged to create a flowing, textured composition visible from multiple vantage points.
