The High Wycombe Project Area forms part of METRONET East, which encompasses precincts around the new High Wycombe, Bayswater and Midland stations.

The High Wycombe project Area was formally established in March 2020, in consultation with the City of Kalamunda. The High Wycombe Project Area boundary is consistent with the City of Kalamunda’s High Wycombe Transit Oriented Development Activity Centre Structure Plan (ACSP).

The new High Wycombe Station forms part of the Forrestfield-Airport Link and brings this station precinct under the METRONET East banner to ensure that the station upgrades and future development of the surrounding areas are successfully integrated.

We will prepare a project vision to inform the intended outcomes for the area, establish a new planning framework to guide future development and determine Development Applications. This will pave the way for the area to be transformed into an activity centre and employment hub.

In May 2021, the METRONET East Redevelopment Scheme was adopted, formally transferring planning authority for the area to our agency. This means Development Applications for properties inside the Project Area are to be lodged with us.

We are currently working with METRONET and the City of Kalamunda on the Activity Centre Plan for the area. Design Guidelines will also be developed to provide detailed guidance for development proposals.
