The State Government has heavily invested in transformative infrastructure which will create vibrant places for the future with more transport, housing, leisure and employment opportunities.
A redevelopment area has been put in place around the Bayswater train station and town centre to maximise development opportunities arising from the station upgrades and help create a connected centre.
DevelopmentWA will prepare and administer a new planning framework for the project area under the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) Act 2011. This will unlock Bayswater’s potential and attract investment in new housing, jobs and services.
DevelopmentWA will build on the planning work undertaken to date in order to prepare a new Scheme and Design Guidelines, in consultation with the Department of Planning Lands and Heritage, City of Bayswater and the local community.
The new High Wycombe train station and surrounding area is part of the new METRONET East - High Wycombe project area. The new High Wycombe station will form part of the Forrestfield-Airport Link.
DevelopmentWA will prepare a project vision to inform the intended outcomes in the area, establish a new planning framework to guide future development and determine development applications. This will pave the way for the area to be transformed into an activity centre and employment hub.
