Build to rent social and affordable development

195 Pier Street, Perth is planned to become an inner city 29-storey apartment complex delivered via a Build-to-Rent (BTR) model that incorporates a mix of social, affordable and market housing, to be owned and operated by a Community Housing Provider.

The building will include:

  • The development will deliver 219 high-rise apartments, comprising:
    • 66 (30%) social homes
    • 44 (20%) affordable homes
    • 109 (50%) market rentals, including 10 Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) apartments
  • Sits on a 3,099 square metre site (including a Stage 2 opportunity)
  • Is located close to public transport, shops and schools

Construction so far at Pier Street

Late last month we marked a major milestone at 195 Pier Street, celebrating the building reaching its full height of 29 storeys. In keeping with a centuries‑old construction tradition, an evergreen tree was hoisted to the rooftop to signify the structure reaching full height – a symbolic moment recognising the progress made by the team and the work still to come. Excellent amenity and services

Once complete, 195 Pier Street will be owned and operated by a Community Housing Provider, delivering long-term, secure and high-quality affordable rental housing in the heart of Perth. 

It's also close to North Metropolitan TAFE and the new ECU City Campus, which opened in early 2026.

Residents will benefit from excellent public transport links, including McIver and Perth train stations, the free ‘blue route’ CAT bus, and high-frequency bus services along Newcastle and Beaufort streets.

Check out Model Apartment 2 at 195 Pier Street. This view is looking in from the balcony through to the kitchen. The balcony provides ample space to position outdoor furniture for a relaxing outdoor retreat.
