Heartwood Bentley - Overview
Part of the Bentley Redevelopment Area, the name Heartwood Bentley reflects that it is the beating 'heart' of one of WA's most significant urban renewal projects that is transforming 21 hectares of land into a thriving neighbourhood. With reference to 'wood' a connection to the tree-lined streets within the development, which aspires to deliver on an increased 30% tree canopy target, as well as creating welcoming parks and places to gather for Heartwood residents and the wider Bentley community alike.
Our vision is to create a diverse and sustainable residential community that promotes inclusion and connectivity, sparking a transformative new chapter for Bentley.

As part of Heartwood Bentley Stage 1, 41 residential lots and three development sites will be delivered. Landscaping for three public open spaces will follow, creating greener, more welcoming places for residents.
The Bentley Redevelopment Master Plan is the first step in a long-term vision to transform the Bentley Redevelopment Area into a connected, sustainable and vibrant neighbourhood over the next 20 years and beyond.
As the planning authority and delivery agency, DevelopmentWA will guide the project’s delivery to ensure it meets both community expectations and government objectives. Follow our works progress here.
Developed in collaboration with Town Team Movement and local community groups, the Bentley Place Plan is a community-led initiative inviting new ideas to shape local streets, parks and public spaces, and guide future place-making across Bentley.
Location
Heartwood Bentley is located off Manning Road in the suburb of Bentley, in the City of Canning, 8 kilometres south of the Perth Central Business District, close to schools, Curtin University, Canning River, and many shopping centres and restaurants. The site is generally bounded by Walpole Street to the North, Manning Road to the South, Pollock Street and Bentley Primary School to the East, and Dumond Street to the West.
