Heartwood Bentley is a significant urban renewal project delivered by DevelopmentWA. Our vision is to create a diverse and sustainable residential community that promotes inclusion and connectivity, sparking a transformative new chapter for Bentley.
Latest update
The State Government has officially approved the Bentley Redevelopment Master Plan and Scheme, unlocking the transformation of 31 hectares of land (including 21 hectares of government-owned land), just 8 kilometres from the Perth CBD.
As the lead agency, DevelopmentWA will oversee the project’s delivery – starting with the creation of Heartwood Bentley, a new residential precinct within the Bentley Redevelopment Area.
Once complete, this project will deliver:
- 800-1000 new homes, including a mix of terrace, apartment and medium-density housing to suit a range of needs;
- 30% urban tree canopy target, to make the area cooler, greener and more liveable;
- 20% increase in ecological value, meaning the redevelopment will leave the environment in better condition than we found it, through habitat restoration, native planting and water-sensitive design.

Location
Heartwood Bentley is located off Manning Road in the suburb of Bentley, in the City of Canning, 8 kilometres south of the Perth Central Business District, close to schools, Curtin University, Canning River, and many shopping centres and restaurants. The site is generally bounded by Walpole Street to the North, Manning Road to the South, Pollock Street and Bentley Primary School to the East, and Dumond Street to the West.
