Overview
The first stage of Subi East involves transforming the land around Subiaco Oval into a mixed-use residential community. Following the opening of Optus Stadium in 2018, the Oval Stadium was demolished to make way for a new phase in Subiaco’s history. Now reopened, the area incorporates:
- the iconic Subiaco Oval, available for public use
- changeroom facilities (managed by the City of Subiaco)
- new playground, parkour course and shaded spaces
- an open-air museum on Subiaco Road, celebrating Subiaco Oval's role as the historic home of WA football
In August 2023, the first two lots were sold to UEM Sunrise Bhd to deliver approximately 340 apartments west of Subiaco Oval. Upon completion, the Oval will deliver around 1000 new homes, supporting the revitalisation of the Subiaco town centre and the growth of the nearby West Leederville activity centre.
